Beverly Hills Cop: More Sci-Fi Than We Think??

Okay, okay, hear me out guys. I know, Beverly Hills Cop isn't exactly Blade Runner or Dune. But I've been thinking about it, and I'm starting to see some seriously interesting world-building going on, especially when you look at it as a soft sci-fi parallel universe. Like, think about it: Axel Foley arrives in Beverly Hills, right? And it's not just a different city, it's a completely different world. The way people talk, the clothes they wear, the cars they drive... it's like he's stepped into a future where the rich have fully withdrawn from reality. Remember that scene in Victor Maitland's art gallery? Axel, a dude used to Detroit's grit, is suddenly surrounded by these bizarre sculptures and people who act like everything's art, even though it's... well, it's just weird. It's like he's in a simulation of wealth! I'm picturing some crazy tech or social engineering thing where the ultra-rich get to live in their own little bubble, detached from the real world's problems. Maitland himself could be some kind of cyborg overlord or a genetically engineered super-businessman (okay, maybe I'm reaching a bit on that one, lol). And then you have the whole 'super cop thrown into a completely different world' trope, which is classic sci-fi! Think about it... it's like some time travel plot where the main character is a fish out of water. I'm not saying Eddie Murphy is secretly a time traveler, guys. I'm just saying that the culture clash is so extreme, that it resembles themes explored in other movies like Demolition Man. The comedy acts as a veil. What do you guys think? Am I crazy, or is there something there?
