Okay, so... "The Medusa Touch" - anyone else seen this bonkers movie?
Okay, folks, so last night after the kiddos were (finally!) down, I was scrolling through some of the older thrillers, and I stumbled upon "The Medusa Touch" from 1978. I'd never heard of it, but the premise sounded kinda intriguing – a guy who can cause disasters with his mind? Sign me up! But wow, it was… intense. Richard Burton plays this Morlar guy who's basically a human disaster waiting to happen. I mean, watching him just… think about things crumbling was actually really unsettling. And the detective trying to piece everything together? Poor guy! The pacing was a bit slow sometimes, I'll admit, and some of the special effects are, shall we say, dated (lol), but the sheer creepiness factor was definitely there. Especially the ending! I won't spoil it, but let's just say it leaves you with a lot to think about – maybe a little too much if you're a worrier like me, haha. I'm not sure it's exactly family viewing, obviously, given the disaster stuff and some, uh, darker themes, but it definitely got me thinking about the power of negativity. I should probably try to instill in the kids to use their power only for good (haha). Has anyone else seen it? What did you think? Am I crazy for finding it so disturbing? Or is it just me? I'm intersted in other movie suggestions you may have too, any thoughts?
