The Medusa Touch: Okay, That Was Wildly Unhinged!
Okay guys, so last night we finally watched "The Medusa Touch." I'd heard whispers about it being crazy, but WOW. Like, I wasn't prepared for how relentlessly bleak it was! The whole premise is nuts – this guy Morlar can basically destroy things with his mind, and everyone around him keeps conveniently dying (or worse!). At first, it seems a bit slow, with Brunel the detective trying to piece everything together. But then it gets bonkers. Honestly, Richard Burton just chewing scenery as Morlar in the flashbacks was a highlight. He's so dramatic and angry, it's almost comical. And the special effects... well, they're definitely from the 70s, but the destruction scenes were surprisingly intense, even if they looked a bit rubbery sometimes. I mean, the airplane crashing into the abbey? Over the top!! My biggest issue was the ending – it felt a bit rushed and not entirely satisfying. Like, after all that build-up of world-ending telekinetic power, the resolution felt a little weak. But overall, it was a pretty messed up, and memorable movie night. Definitely one to watch if you're in the mood for something dark, and a little bit insane. It's pure 70s cheese, but I dig it you know? Anyone else seen this? What did you think? I'm especially curious if you found the ending as underwhelming as I did.
