Dr. Strange (1978) - Anybody Else Think This TV Movie Is Criminally Underrated?

Okay, people, let's talk about the 1978 Dr. Strange TV movie. Yes, I know, it's not MCU, it's got that cheesy '70s vibe... but come on! I genuinely think this flick gets way too much hate. It's got Peter Hooten looking like he stepped straight outta a comic book (though, granted, he's a little too 'boy next door' for my ideal Strange). But I'm a sucker for those old practical effects and the way they approached the magic. Like, the astral projection scenes? Simple but effective! And Jessica Walter as Morgan le Fay? Legendary. "Magic is a gift, not a weapon!" she spits out, and you believe she means it... even if she's also a total psycho sorceress. Seriously, Walter elevates the whole thing. I swear, the '70s knew how to cast a villain. I understand people ragging on the low budget but even that is charming. It's got that vibe like you were watching it on TV at your grandma's house as a kid. My question is this: Does anyone else out there appreciate this for what it is? A flawed but fun, early attempt at bringing the Sorcerer Supreme to the screen? I get the MCU version is the gold standard, but this one has a certain… je ne sais quoi. Maybe it's nostalgia goggles, but I think it's worth a revisit if you're a Strange fan and haven't seen it in a while. Was I alone in geeking out to the low-budget sorcery or are there some others out there like me? Let me know! Also I'm fully claiming the phrase 'Total Psycho Sorceress' as a new descriptor, so ya'll get to use it with my blessing. Okay? And I gotta ask, did anyone else think Clea should have been given more to do? It felt like she was just there to kinda stand next to him, a shame. She has such a great character in the comics.
