Okay, "Dr. Strange" (1978) - Am I the ONLY one who kinda... likes it?!

Alright film fanatics, Priya here! You guys KNOW I have a soft spot for the oddballs, the almost-but-not-quite-good, the films that are so weird they're captivating. And right now, I'm thinking about the 1978 "Dr. Strange" movie. I know, I know, it's a made-for-TV movie, doesn't have all the bells and whistles of modern superhero flicks, and the special effects are... well, they're special, alright? But something about it just sticks with me. I mean, the acting is questionable at times, especially from the villain, Morgan le Fay. But Peter Hooten as Dr. Strange? He's got this quiet dignity, this reluctant hero vibe that actually WORKS. And Jessica Walter! Oh, Jessica Walter! She's amazing even in this crazy role, playing off the campiness and giving a truly memorable performance. Did anyone else almost cheer when she cast that first spell? What really gets me is the underlying concept. A psychiatrist becoming Sorcerer Supreme? Talk about a career change! It's almost symbolic. I think the theme of balancing the rational world with the supernatural is something that actually holds up, even if the execution isn't always perfect. So my question is: I know it's no "Citizen Kane", or even a modern MCU film, but am I completely alone in finding some quirky charm in this weird, little movie? What moments did you enjoy the most? Tell me I am not crazy!
