Starman Was...Surprisingly Sweet? (Spoilers)

Okay, so I just watched Starman (1984) - yeah, I know, I'm super late to the party. I'm on this whole classic movie binge right now, and I saw the DVD at a thrift store and was like, why not? I went in totally blind, only knowing it was some kind of sci-fi thing. I didn't know who directed it or anything, but dude, it was NOTHING like I expected. I thought it was gonna be this intense alien invasion kinda movie, but it was actually… really beautiful? The whole thing with Starman learning about being human through Jenny's memories of her dead husband was actually kinda heartbreaking. Jeff Bridges was AMAZING, by the way. The scene where he's learning to drive and almost crashes? Hysterical! And the part where he brings the deer back to life? Seriously powerful stuff. Dude almost made me cry! (don't tell anyone). So, here's my question for anyone else who's seen it: Did you find the ending a little...abrupt? Like, I get it, he had to leave, but I kinda wanted to see what happened after she had the baby. Was she raising a half-human super-baby? Did she ever see him again? It felt like they just cut it off right when things were getting interesting! I guess it's more about the journey than the destination, but still... I need answers! Anyone have any good fan theories or something?
