Wheels on Meals: Jackie Chan and a Whole Lotta Feels (Plus Some Kicks)
Okay, so I just finished watching Wheels on Meals, and I'm still buzzing! I saw this one mentioned on a Jackie Chan deep-dive thread, and I had to check it out. First of all, the food truck concept? Genius! Two cousins running around Barcelona selling fast food? It's quirky and adorable. But then you throw in Yuen Biao and Benny "The Jet" Urquidez kicking absolute BUTT and yeah, my inner child was screaming. I gotta say, the storyline is a bit... loose? Like, it's basically an excuse to get into a bunch of fights. But honestly, I didn't care! The action sequences are INSANE. That fight scene at the castle involving Benny was just amazing. Sylvia oh my god she was just as beautiful as the movie suggests. Not to mention seeing Jackie Chan do his iconic stunts always leaves me so impressed. I kept yelling at the screen, "Be careful, Jackie!", but it was no use. However, that scene where they finally rescue Sylvia? My heart kinda ached for her! She had such a hard life, that I felt like I almost had tears in my eyes when she got rescued. Overall, Wheels on Meals is pure, unadulterated fun. If you're looking for a deep, thought-provoking film, this ain't it, hun. But if you want to turn your brain off and watch some seriously talented martial artists beat each other up in creative and hilarious ways, then definitely give it a watch! Just maybe order some takeout first, because all that food truck action will make you hungry!
