Goonies Never Say Die... and neither does my love for this movie!

Okay, so I watched "The Goonies" last night for like, the millionth time? Seriously, this movie is pure comfort food. I don't even care that the special effects are super dated now, it's just got that magic. I always forget who directed it, lol, but whoever it was, they nailed the whole 'kids on an adventure' vibe. Chunk is, hands down, the BEST part. His whole confession scene at the Fratellis' hideout? Classic. And Sloth! I know it's supposed to be all scary, but he's so sweet (eventually, anyway). I always tear up when he and Chunk become friends. The booby traps in the caves are pretty cool too, even if you can totally see how fake some of them are, haha. Sometime I think it gets a little cheesy, but like, in a good way? Like when they're all chanting "Goonies never say die!" I'm totally chanting along with them, even though I'm an adult. And the pirate ship at the end? So over the top, but SO cool. Overall, "The Goonies" is just a super fun, feel-good movie. If you need a dose of 80s nostalgia and a good laugh, definitely give it a re-watch (or watch it for the first time if you've somehow missed it!). Five stars from me, even if it IS a little silly.
