Clue: Still Finding New Stuff After All These Years!
Okay, so I've probably seen 'Clue' like, a hundred times. And every single time I watch it again, I catch something new! This time around, I was really focusing on Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn, RIP, she was a LEGEND). The way she delivers those lines - especially the whole 'flames...flames on the side of my face' monologue? Pure comedic genius. But I ALSO noticed just how suspicious she is the ENTIRE movie! Like, way more than I usually give her credit for. Is she genuinely terrified, or putting on a show? I'm leaning towards show this time. What do you guys think? And can we talk about the sheer chaos of the ending(s)? It's brilliant. I always forget which ending is 'real' until I'm actually watching it. The Plum/Scarlett collaboration is always a shocker, but the way they all just spiral into accusations and panic is just chef's kiss. Plus, Tim Curry's physical comedy is on point throughout – the running around, the frantic explanations… he really sells the 'desperate to survive' vibe. One thing that always bugs me though – and I'm sorry if someone's already pointed this out – is the whole 'singing telegram' plot point. It feels sorta shoe-horned in, even for a movie this absurd. Like, it's funny, but does it REALLY add anything to the overall mystery? I dunno. Probably just me overthinking it! Anyway, another amazing rewatch! I seriously doubt I'll EVER get tired of this movie. What details have you all spotted on recent viewings?
