Re-Animator: This Sh*t's Got Me Thinking...

Okay, folks, scottscreens here, and I just re-watched Re-Animator. "We've all got things we don't want other people to know!" right? But this movie...it's like, beyond messed up, even by '80s horror standards. I mean, the cat? Come on! But seriously, the whole concept of bringing back the dead...it's got me thinking. Specifically, that scene in the operating room with Dr. Hill's head. "Death is a disease!" but is it really CURABLE? I know it's just a movie, but some of the practical effects are disturbingly good (and maybe a little too funny?). And then West's whole detached scientist persona..."Headless body of a colleague, not a big deal." Does he EVER feel remorse? Or is he just purely driven by the science? What I wanna know is, what's your interpretation of West? Is he a misunderstood genius battling the boundaries of science, or just a complete psycho with a syringe full of green goo? Lemme hear your thoughts. P.S. Anyone else thinks David Gale (Dr. Hill) absolutely crushed that role? Talk about embodying pure evil...even when just a head!
