Okay, hear me out... Re-Animator?

So, I'm usually all about the meet-cutes and happily-ever-afters, right? But sometimes, you just gotta branch out! And last night, I stumbled upon Re-Animator (don't ask). It was… an experience. I mean, corpses coming back to life? NOT exactly my typical rom-com fare. But honestly, it was surprisingly hilarious in a twisted, 'did-I-really-just-see-that?' kind of way. Herbert West is, like, the most unsettlingly intense scientist ever. The guy's got zero social skills and a serious god complex, but Jeffrey Combs totally sells it. And the effects? I'm usually not a gore person (give me a good makeover montage any day!), but the practical effects are so wild and over-the-top, you can't help but laugh. That scene with the cat? I'm scarred for life, but also kind of impressed? It's hard to explain. What really got me was how committed everyone was to the absurdity. Like, they're playing it straight, which somehow makes it even funnier. The head scene?! Oh my gosh! I think I peed myself a little. Like, is it just me, or is the director actually pretty skilled at dark humor? Look, I'm not saying I'm giving up on my Hugh Grant movies anytime soon, but Re-Animator was a weirdly enjoyable detour. Has anyone else seen it? Am I totally crazy for finding humor in zombie cats and rogue body parts? Let me know!
