Teen Wolf: It's not just a basketball movie...is it?
Okay, so I was rewatching Teen Wolf (the OG Michael J. Fox one, obvs) and something hit me. We all know it's goofy, right? 80s cheese, basketball, awkward puberty metaphors... but what if there's some actual world-building hiding under all that hair? Think about it: Stiles points out early that the werewolf thing skipped a generation. So like... is this just a regular thing in their universe? Like, do other families have secret werewolf bloodlines? Is there a whole hidden society of were-creatures just chilling in small-town America? The movie never really addresses it, and that's what's BUGGING me. The way they just roll with it makes me think this isn't a complete anomaly. And then there's the whole 'Scott becomes popular because he's a werewolf' thing. He's suddenly good at basketball, confident, and dates Pamela Wells. But what if the transformation isn't just physical? What if it unlocks some kind of dormant mental or even...dare I say...psychic potential? Remember when he howls and drives the van? That doesn't feel like just wolf senses to me. Feels like something...more? Maybe I'm overthinking it. I tend to do that. But the lack of explanation for the werewolf lineage feels strangely deliberate. It's like the director was hinting at a broader, more complex world just beyond the frame. What do you guys think? Am I reading too much into it, or is there a secret Teen Wolf extended universe waiting to be explored? Also, someone should tell Boof that standing on the roof to check out the ladies is not a good look, even in 1985. #TeenWolf #MichaelJFox #Werewolves #Worldbuilding #MovieTheory
