Teen Wolf (1985): Seriously Underrated 80s Gold!

Okay, so I just re-watched Teen Wolf (the Michael J. Fox one, obviously) and I forgot how much I genuinely LOVE this movie. It's so cheesy and predictable, but in the BEST possible way. Like, the special effects are hilariously bad now, but back in the day, I'm sure that wolf makeup was terrifying... or cool? I can't decide, lol. I think Stiles (Boof, whatever his real name is lol), Scott's best friend, is my favorite character. He's just SO over the top. Remember when he's trying to get Scott to embrace the wolf and he's all like, "Come on! You'll be a smash!" GOLD. PURE GOLD. And the basketball scenes? Come on. It's so ridiculous that suddenly being a wolf makes him an AMAZING player, but I'm 100% here for it. Especially because it's a small school and this makes them into a winning team! Total underdog story, even if the underdog is a werewolf! I also kinda love how superficial the 'moral of the story' is; you have to just 'be yourself'... even though being yourself means being an average teen that no one cares about, lol. I do think they kinda dropped the ball with Boof's character development, even though his comedy was great. I almost feel like he should've had some arc about feeling left out or something? IDK. And I didn't really care for Pamela either she did nothing wrong it just felt obvious that she was just the 'girl' character. But overall, it's just FUN. If you need a good laugh and some 80s nostalgia, definitely give it a watch. P.S. I'm still convinced that Stiles' jeep is the real hero of the movie. Like, that thing survives EVERYTHING.
