Phenomena: Is Jennifer Possessed?
Alright, action junkies! Mikecinema here, back from another deep dive. Just watched Phenomena (1985) and man, that ending... still chewing on it. The whole insect thing is wild, right? Like, Jennifer can control bugs. Cool power, sure, but something feels off. I've got this theory brewing that maybe she's not just communicating with the insects, maybe she's, like, channeling something through them. Think about it, all those swarms converging, the way they move and react... feels too coordinated, too aggressive for just a simple 'command and obey' situation. Specifically, remember that scene where the insects lead her to the glove? When she puts it on, she seems almost blank, robotic. Like she's not even herself anymore. And then, bam, she's killing the killer. It just doesn't feel like someone strategically using her power, right? Feels like a force acting through her. Also, Professor John McGregor, I think he knew about it, but he did a bad job on telling her about the risks. Maybe it's a demon, maybe it's some ancient insect god thing, I don't know. But I'm betting Jennifer's not just talking to the bugs, she's being used by something bigger, something insect-shaped and evil. Anyone else get that vibe? Or am I just overthinking the whole damn thing (very possible)? Let me know what you think!
