Okay, "Desperately Seeking Susan"... Thoughts?

So I just watched "Desperately Seeking Susan" with Sarah and Miguel last night, and wow, that was… a lot! I knew Madonna was in it, but I honestly didn't realize how much of a role she had. Or, well, didn't have, since it's technically Rosanna Arquette's movie, right? First off, Rosanna Arquette is amazing in this! Like, her transformation from Roberta the boring housewife to trying to be Susan is so believable and hilarious. I genuinely felt bad for her husband, tho. He was just trying to have a normal life, and she's off chasing after some random girl from the personals! LOL. But here's my question: did anyone else think that the whole plot was kinda…thin? Like, I get that it's supposed to be a fun, quirky 80s movie, but how quickly things escalated seemed kinda silly, even by 80s movie standards! Like, BAM. Amneisa. BAM. Mobsters. BAM. Magic Act. It's a wild ride. Also, Madonna looked like a total rockstar even back then. Her style is so ahead of its time. I think the whole point is about becoming yourself but what did you all think about the ending? Was Roberta really happy back with her husband? Or was she just used to the life?
