Year of the Dragon: Is it problematic or just plain awesome?

Okay, so I just re-watched 'Year of the Dragon' and, like, WOW. Mickey Rourke is intense as hell as Captain Stanley White. Dude's got some serious baggage, which, yeah, makes him kinda unlikable at times. But you can't deny he's captivating. I mean, the whole movie is a powder keg just waitin' to explode. But here's the thing: I know a lot of people find it super problematic because of the whole depiction of Chinatown and how it handles race. And, honestly, I get it. There are definitely moments that make you cringe. But Joey Tai (John Lone) is such a compelling villain. That restaurant scene where he, like, establishes himself? Chills! And the action sequences are legit insane for an '80s flick. The rooftop chase? Chef's kiss. I'm torn, I guess. On one hand, it's a super stylish and gripping crime thriller with some iconic performances. On the other, it's got elements that haven't aged well at all. It's one of those movies that sparks a debate, y'know? What do you guys think? Is it a flawed classic or just plain insensitive?
