Just saw Jagged Edge - did anyone else feel kinda...icky?

Okay, so I finally got around to watching "Jagged Edge" (1985) - yeah, I know, I'm super late to the party. But wow, what a ride! First of all, Jeff Bridges is REALLY good in this. Like, magnetic. I totally bought him as this charming, grieving, maybe-guilty widower. And Glenn Close? Amazing. She brought so much intensity to the lawyer, Teddy Barnes. I loved how conflicted she was, and how you could see her struggling with her own morals as she got closer to him. But here's where I get a little conflicted myself. The whole thing felt… I don't know... manipulative? Like, the movie is trying to make you think one thing, then BAM, it throws you for a loop. Which is fine, I guess, but the way they played with the Glenn Close character's attraction to Jeff Bridges, while he's literally on trial for murdering his wife... idk, gave me the creeps a little. It felt like the movie was using her vulnerability to distract you from the actual crime. I also got the impression that one scene was missing. You know, the one where Teddy decides to go against the evidence she sees? Maybe I missed something? It just all felt a little too convenient. Overall, I enjoyed the suspense and the performances, but that icky feeling lingers. What did you guys think? Did the romance side plot sit well with anyone else? Or am I just being overly sensitive? Let me know!
