OMG Aliens - I Was NOT Prepared!

Okay, so I finally watched Aliens (yes, I know, I'm late to the party!). I knew it was supposed to be a classic, but I wasn't really ready for how intense it would be. Poor Ripley! Waking up after all that time and having everyone basically think she's nuts? That made me so sad for her. And then going BACK to that planet?! I would have noped out so fast. Girl is braver than I'll ever be, that's for sure. And Newt! Oh my god, Newt. She just broke my heart. Especially the scene where she's hiding under the grates and calling Ripley 'Mommy'. I almost started crying right there in my living room. The whole colonial marine squad was cool, but the connection between Ripley and Newt felt so real and protective. Hicks too, actually. I really liked him. Why do my favorite characters always have to be in danger?! Some of the effects were a little dated (duh!), but honestly, it didn't even matter. I was too busy gripping my blanket and screaming at the TV. The tension was cranked up to eleven the whole time. And that power loader fight at the end? SO FREAKING GOOD. "Get away from her, you B*tch!" ICONIC. My only complaint is that it's over! Guess I'm going to have to watch the other ones now, but I'm also kind of scared. lol. Overall, super recommend if you're looking for something that'll give you all the feels (and maybe a nightmare or two, haha). I feel like I need to process it all, lol. Anyone else feel this way after watching it for the first time?
