Big Trouble in Little China: Just watched it...still confused (but in a good way?)

Okay, so I just stumbled onto Big Trouble in Little China on late-night cable (shoutout to channel 666, always delivering the weird stuff). I think my brain just did a backflip. Kurt Russell is basically playing a slightly less competent Han Solo, right? Like, he thinks he's the hero, but Wang Chi is pulling all the strings. Honestly, I'm not even sure what the actual plot was half the time. Something about green eyes, a wedding, and ancient magic? Lo Pan was pretty freaky though, gotta give him that. And what was up with those monsters? The exploding guy, the electricity dude, and...the one with the blades? Were they supposed to be intimidating? Kind of goofy, but I was also half asleep maybe so that's on me. I did laugh when Jack accidentally shot the ceiling. That was peak '80s action-comedy right there. Speaking of which, was it supposed to be a comedy, or was it just really bad? I honestly can't tell the difference sometimes. Also, quick question to people who've seen this more than once (or even just remember more than I do right now): What was with the Egg Shen guy? Was he actually a powerful wizard or just a really good storyteller? The bus scene was bananas, but that whole character felt like he wandered in from a completely different movie. Anyway, thoughts? Am I completely missing something? Did I just witness cinematic gold, or am I just really, really tired? Hit me with your takes!
