Rewatching 'Crocodile Dundee': Still Funny, But Did Anyone Else Notice...?

Okay, so I've seen 'Crocodile Dundee' like, a million times since I was a kid. It's just one of those movies that's always on when you can't find anything else to watch. I still laugh, I can't lie. Paul Hogan's timing is perfect, and the whole 'fish out of water' thing with Mick in New York is classic. But this time, I was paying extra attention, and I noticed a couple of things I never really clocked before. First, Sue Charlton (Linda Kozlowski) is seriously underappreciated! Yeah, she's the 'damsel' at the beginning, but she's also really ambitious and clearly not afraid to go after what she wants. And the little looks she gives Mick when he's being totally oblivious? Gold! Also, did anyone else think the whole 'street smarts' bit was a little... forced? Like, the mugging scene in the subway? It felt really staged, even for an 80s comedy. Don't get me wrong, the "That's not a knife... that's a knife" line is iconic, but the setup felt kinda clunky. And here's a random thought: I wonder what happened to Neville Bell? He was so into Sue! Did he just slink back to Australia dejected after Mick showed up? Poor guy. Anyway, still a fun movie, still quotable, but definitely seeing it with fresh eyes this time around. What were your thoughts on it?
