"Somewhere Out There" Still Hits SO HARD 😭

Okay guys, so we watched "An American Tail" last night – talk about a throwback! I hadn't seen it since I was a little kid, and wow, it's way more emotional than I remember. Like, the whole scene where Fievel gets separated from his family during the storm? Instant tears. I was NOT prepared. And that 'Somewhere Out There' song? It's just… chef's kiss. Seriously, how does a cartoon mouse make me feel this much?!? My friend Sarah was definitely crying harder than me, lol. I actually forgot how dark some parts of the movie are. The cat gangs are genuinely scary! And the whole theme of being an immigrant and facing prejudice is pretty heavy for a kids' movie, you know? But I think that's what makes it so good, actually. It's not just fluff; it actually has something to say. It almost felt kinda relevant to stuff going on now, which is weird for an animated movie from the 80s. Also, Dom DeLuise as Tiger? Comedy GOLD. I forgot how hilarious he was. He really needed more screen time, imo. And Papa Mousekewitz's optimism despite everything always cracks me up. "In America, there are cats, but there are no czars!" Okay, dad, lol. It's definitely a charming movie, even if it's a bit of a tearjerker. Anyone else re-watched this recently? I gave it a rewatch as a grown-up and realized, this used to be one of my favorite animated films. I still think its pretty good, and the animation is really charming. I dunno, maybe I am getting soft hahah. Let me know what you guys think.
