Pretty in Pink: Still Holds Up (Kinda? 👀)

Okay, so I rewatched Pretty in Pink last night and, like, nostalgia hit me HARD. I know it's kinda cheesy and the 80s fashion is... well, it's something, but Andie (Molly Ringwald) is just so relatable, you know? Being the outsider who doesn't quite fit in but still has this fierce independence? I totally got that vibe back in high school. Plus, the soundtrack is killer. Seriously, haven't stopped listening to it since. Duckie (Jon Cryer) is the ultimate best friend, even if his fashion choices are...questionable, lol. But here's the thing, and this is where I might get flamed: I'm still torn on whether she should've ended up with Duckie or Blaine (Andrew McCarthy). Like, Blaine is obviously the 'dream' boyfriend, the rich preppy guy, but he's also kinda boring? And definitely a bit of a snob at times. Duckie, on the other hand, is SO loyal and funny and clearly adores her. That prom scene where he lip-syncs 'Try a Little Tenderness'? GOLD. Still gives me chills. I'm also kinda side-eyeing Andie's choices. Like, her prom dress...it's unique for sure, but was it the right choice? LOL. Maybe that's the point, though, right? It's about her being herself and not conforming. Still, part of me wanted her to go full-on glam. And I HATE Steff (James Spader). Like, seriously, ultimate 80s douchebag. Anyway, what do you guys think? Team Duckie or Team Blaine? And be honest, does this movie still resonate, or is it just a product of its time? I'm ready for the debate!
