Poltergeist II: Remember this one?

Okay guys, so we watched Poltergeist II the other night. I gotta say, it's... something. Not as good as the first, obvi, but still kinda creepy in its own bizarre way. I mean, Craig T. Nelson fighting a tequila worm monster? Come on! That scene where the Beast, Kane, is at the Freeling's front door... still gives me the shivers. Julian Beck nailed that disturbing preacher vibe. Also, shoutout to Will Sampson as Taylor, the Native American shaman. He was actually really cool and added a different dimension to the whole thing. That scene where he does the chanting thing with the spear? Chills! But like, good chills. I think the whole thing suffers a bit from trying to explain too much, you know? The first one was so effective because it was just pure, terrifying mystery. This one tries to give backstory to the Beast and the cult, but it ends up feeling a little convoluted and less scary. Plus, some of the effects haven't aged well AT ALL. Anyone else think Robbie's braces looked kinda goofy? Haha! Overall, I'd say it's worth a watch if you're a fan of the original and want to see how the story continues. But go in with lowered expectations and be prepared for some cheese. Defintiely not as iconic as the first, but that doesn't mean it's TERRIBLE. What did you guys think?
