Demons 2: I still can't believe they went there...
Okay, so I just rewatched Demons 2. Look, the first one is iconic, right? Pure 80s Italian horror magic. But Demons 2...it's just so bonkers. I mean, a demon bursting out of a TV screen during a birthday party? That's pretty wild. But the moment when that pregnant woman gives birth to a full-blown demon baby? Still makes my jaw drop. Like, how did they get away with that?! I'm also kind of obsessed with the evolving forms of the demons in this movie. The guy with the sprouting horns that become a real demon is creepy enough, but the poodle turning into a miniature demon is straight-up nightmare fuel. Anyone else find themselves checking their pets a little more carefully after watching this? I do! Seriously though, did anyone else think the whole 'trapped in an apartment building' concept was kinda genius? It's so claustrophobic and keeps the tension high the whole time. Plus, they commit to such absurd moments. I swear, the whole premise is like the writers were dared to write the most insane plot possible! My question is: where does Demons 2 rank for you in the series? Is it a case of so-bad-it's-good, or a genuinely terrifying sequel, or something in between? I think it's got a weird charm that the 'original' lacked, but would love to hear your thoughts! Oliviacinema out!
