Down and Out in Beverly Hills - Score Thoughts?

Hey everyone, HughesReviews here. I was rewatching "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" the other day, and man, what a classic! Paul Mazursky really nailed that satirical look at wealth and privilege. But as usual, I was really dialed into the score by Andy Summers (yes, that Andy Summers from The Police!). I'm curious what you all think about it. It's such an interesting mix of styles, right? You've got those light, almost cartoonish cues that perfectly capture the absurdity of the Whitemans' lives, and then you have these moments that are surprisingly melancholic, especially when Jerry (the vagrant) is on screen. The scene where he's wandering around Beverly Hills, looking lost, with that almost wistful guitar melody playing... it's genuinely affecting. I feel like Summers doesn't get enough credit as a film composer. It's a pretty unique soundtrack. Does anyone else think its a bit all over the place, or does that chaos kind of work for the movie's tone? Any particular cues or moments that really stand out for you? I'm thinking of picking up a copy of the score, if I can find one, so any recommendations on versions would be super helpful too. Let's discuss!
