Troll (1986) - My Crazy Theory About the Mushroom World!
Okay, so I just rewatched Troll (1986) for like, the billionth time. Yeah, it's cheesy. Yeah, the acting is… questionable sometimes. But something struck me this time around, and I had to share my absolutely bonkers theory. What if, hear me out, what if the whole apartment building IS a portal to the troll world? Like, not just a portal into it, but literally becomes the troll world? We see the troll turning people into plants and mushrooms, right? And it seems confined to the building. My theory is that the troll's magic, or whatever it is, taps into some kind of pre-existing dimension within the building itself. The building itself has some sort of connection to this troll realm. And Barbara Billingsley as the troll is just pure nightmare fuel, let's be honest. Hahaha! I think that's why the kid, Harry Potter Jr. (lol sorry couldn't resist the dig at the name), is so important. Maybe he's not just some random kid who happens to be good at fantasy games; maybe he's got some latent ability to perceive the troll world bleeding into our reality. Which is why he knows exactly what’s going on. It's definitely a stretch, but I think it's fun to consider. What does everyone else think? Am I completely off my rocker, or is there something to this mushroom-building-portal-world idea?
