Anyone else remember that wacky Italian movie, "7 Kilos in 7 Days"?!
Okay, so I was just reminiscing with my hubby about really random movies we watched as kids growing up in different countries (I'm American, he's Italian) and '7 Kilos in 7 Days' came up! It's an Italian comedy from the 80s – super cheesy, but also kinda adorable in that low-budget, over-the-top way. The plot is just ridiculous: these two doctors start a fitness center promising weight loss miracles, fail spectacularly, and then pivot to opening a fancy restaurant. Total chaotic fun! Honestly, the humor is pretty broad and slapstick-y. I remember my older brother and I just cracking up at how utterly inept the doctors were. There's this one scene where they're trying to demonstrate weight loss exercises and end up hurting themselves more than helping anyone else... pure physical comedy gold! And the restaurant part is even crazier, because they clearly have no idea what they're doing and just throw a bunch of random ingredients together. I don't know why, but that stuck with me. I wouldn't say it's high art or anything, but it's a fun, lighthearted flick that makes you laugh. I'm not sure if I'd recommend it to kids today (humor has really changed), but for adults who grew up in the 80s with a taste for silly comedies, it's worth a watch for the nostalgia factor alone. Definitely something you can watch without having to think to hard. Anyone else remember this one? I kinda want to find it now and rewatch it! Oh, and its on Youtube, so that makes it even easier! One last thing: I always wondered who directed this thing! I can't find any credits for the Director. Anyone know?!?!
