Dirty Dancing: Was Baby a little... naive?

Okay, so I just rewatched Dirty Dancing (because, duh, Patrick Swayze!) and I have a theory. Hear me out: Baby, while being totally adorable and well-meaning, was kinda... naive, right? Like, SUPER naive. Think about it. She's like, 'I wanna help underprivileged people!' and then immediately gets swept up in Johnny's world, which, let's be real, isn't exactly curing cancer. I'm not saying she shouldn't have helped Penny, but she never really questions Johnny's whole 'life on the road' thing. It's like she's so blinded by his hotness (and the dancing, obvs) that she doesn't see any potential red flags. Remember when she asks her dad for money so nonchalantly?? Like, girl! Have some tact! My theory is that part of the reason she matures so quickly in the movie isn't just because of the dancing and Johnny, but also because she gets a giant dose of reality. She's suddenly dealing with things way beyond her sheltered little world, and it forces her to grow up fast. And honestly, good for her! But still, I think the movie kinda romanticizes her initial naivete a little too much. Am I the only one who thinks this? Or am I just being a hater? Let me know what yall think! P.S. - Still crying during the "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" scene. Always will. 😭
