"The Princess Bride": Still Holds Up, Right? (And Why Inigo Montoya is the Best)

Okay, mamas (and papas!), I just re-watched "The Princess Bride" with the kids for the millionth time, and I have to know – am I crazy, or does it just get BETTER with age? I remember loving it as a kid, but now seeing it through my kids' eyes... it's just pure magic. They were cracking up at Fezzik's rhymes and totally rooting for Westley, even the grumpy one! What I'm wondering is, what's everyone's favorite part? For me, it's gotta be Inigo Montoya's whole revenge quest. Seriously, Mandy Patinkin KILLS it in that role. I practically tear up every time he says, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." Is it just me, or is that the most perfectly delivered line in cinematic history? My oldest is now running around the house trying to imitate his sword fighting, which is both adorable and slightly terrifying, haha. Also, I'm kinda obsessed with the fact that it's a love story, but like, a funny one? Buttercup's kind of a damsel, I guess, but she's also got some sass. And Westley is swoon-worthy, but also kinda goofy. It's not your typical fairy tale romance, and I think that's what makes it so enduring. Anyone else feel like this movie should be required viewing for all families?? Maybe that's just me being dramatic LOL! Oh! And a quick question - does anyone know who directed it? I'm drawing a blank and feel like I should know! It's just so perfectly quirky and offbeat, I'm super curious. Anyway, let me know your thoughts! What scene gets you every time?
