Just watched Hellraiser... um, okay then!

Okay, so last night me and the crew finally got around to watching Hellraiser (1987). I knew going in it was gonna be...intense, but wow. I wasn't prepared for the level of body horror. Like, the scene where Frank is being... reconstituted? Ugh. I had to look away a few times. My friend Liam actually yelped. Lol. I gotta say, though, I was surprisingly invested in Kirsty's story. She's definitely got some serious courage, figuring out that box and trying to stop Frank and Julia was wild. And Pinhead? Iconic! I can see why he's become such a famous horror movie monster. That voice! So creepy but also kind of... eloquent? Is that the right word? He somehow manages to be scary and kinda cool at the same time. Honestly, the ending left me with a ton of questions. Like, what exactly IS that dimension the Cenobites come from? Is it actually Hell? And what was with that puzzle box in the first place? Does anyone actually want to summon these guys? And how did Frank get it in the first place? Maybe I need to watch it again to catch some details. Overall, a pretty disturbing but ultimately memorable horror flick. Not sure if I'll watch the sequels anytime soon though... maybe after I've had a few weeks to decompress from the first one, haha.
