Okay, 'A Room With a View' - Surprisingly Good!
So, I watched 'A Room With a View' last night because, honestly, I was bored and it was on cable. I knew literally nothing about it going in, except that it was, like, a period piece. I was expecting something super stuffy and boring, but it was actually pretty good? The whole thing with Lucy and Charlotte being in Italy and getting bad rooms in their hotel and then the Emersons (father and son) offering to switch...that was pretty cute, even though Charlotte was kind of a massive pain. I kept rolling my eyes at her! I definitely didn't expect the super intense scene where someone gets stabbed in the piazza! That was WILD. And then, of course, there's George...he's definitely got that brooding romantic thing going on, which, you know, I'm not mad at. I liked how Lucy was clearly trying to be proper, but you could see she was totally drawn to him, even when she was trying to be all high society. That kiss in the flower field? Okay, I admit, it got me a little. I mean, who hasn't wanted that kind of impulsive romance, right? Honestly, I thought the ending was a little predictable, but in a satisfying way? Lucy ending up with George after all the drama with Cecil...it just felt right. Plus, bonus points for the beautiful scenery! Italy looks amazing in this movie. Overall, I'd say give it a watch if you're looking for something a little bit different but still entertaining. It's definitely not an action movie, lol, but it kept my attention way better than I thought it would. I kinda wanna go to Florence now!
