Dream Warriors: Underrated Gem or Overhyped?

Okay horror fans, let's talk Dream Warriors! I've been revisiting the Elm Street franchise lately and I gotta say, part 3 still hits DIFFERENT. It's not just the totally 80s vibes (which, let's be real, are AMAZING), but the whole concept of a group of teens fighting Freddy TOGETHER with their dream powers is just so cool. Plus, Patricia Arquette? Icon. Badass. End of story. But here's my question: does Dream Warriors get TOO much love? Don't get me wrong, I ADORE this movie. The special effects are legitimately awesome, especially for the time. The puppetry on Freddy is top tier and the characters are actually likable. I still get chills when Taryn turns into a junkie in her nightmare and faces Freddy! But sometimes I see people acting like it's the only good Elm Street sequel, and I'm not sure I totally agree. Is it maybe a little overhyped because it was the first one to really try something new and ambitious? And speaking of ambitious, what was up with the nun subplot with Nancy's dad? It felt kinda tacked on and never really paid off, ya know? Like they wanted to add some extra lore but didn't fully commit. Overall though, It's still in my top 3 of the franchise. I'm just curious what everyone else thinks about its place in horror history. Thoughts?
