Witches of Eastwick: Okay, that was...something!

So, I just finished watching "The Witches of Eastwick" and wow, I'm not quite sure what to make of it, lol. I went in totally blind, just saw it floating around on a 'classics' list somewhere. Three mega-talented actress, i'm watching. Seriously Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Susan Sarandon? It's like an embarrassment of riches in the cast department. The basic story is easy enough to follow, but the devil guy...Jack Nicholson really goes for it! Honestly, sometimes it felt like he was in a different movie than everyone else, but in a kinda fascinating way. Like, one minute he's charming, another he's just straight up repulsive and I was like 'Woah, dude, rein it in!' I was kinda thrown off by how it jumped between being funny and then kinda freaky. The cherry pit scene? Yikes! That whole church sequence with the weird dolls was seriously disturbing. I wasn't expecting that level of intensity from a movie like this. But then you have Cher being all sarcastic and dry, which was great. And I'm obsessed with the set design & costumes, so visually, it was really compelling even when the plot was making me scratch my head trying to figure it all out. Honestly, I wouldn't say it's like, the perfect movie, BUT it was definitely memorable. Like, I'll be thinking about this one for a while. Pretty sure I'm gonna be seeing Jack Nicholson's face in my nightmares, lol. Anyone seen this one before? What did you think? Am I missing something here? Maybe it's more obvious when you grew up with it. Going to watch something lighter now, maybe a rom-com or something to cleanse the palate! Haha. Def feels like something that could spark a remake these days. But I don't know if anyone could top Nicholson's crazy performance.
