Stakeout (1987): Madeline Stowe's Wardrobe = 80s Perfection?!
Okay, so I just re-watched Stakeout (totally a guilty pleasure, I know, lol) and I'm obsessed with Madeline Stowe's outfits in this movie. Like, seriously OBSESSED. It's such a simple film, but her style is so effortlessly chic and very of the time. Specifically, there's that scene where she's at the bar and has the oversized black blazer with the rolled up sleeves and the simple white top. What IS that top exactly? Is it a bodysuit? It looks so perfectly tucked in. And the whole vibe is just so cool. I'm trying to recreate it, but I can't quite nail it. Also, later on she has that kind of casual thing going with the jeans and that one sweater, the blue one? I love it! I know it's not a deeply profound movie or anything, but did anyone else notice how good her outfits were? I wonder if they were all just things she brought to set, or if the costume designer was just a genius? Maybe I am just too into fashion! Anyone have any insight?
