Three O'Clock High: Is Buddy Revell Just a Manifestation of Jerry's Anxiety?! 🤯

Okay, so I was rewatching Three O'Clock High the other day (for like, the millionth time, I know, I know, I'm obsessed), and a totally bonkers theory popped into my head. What if Buddy Revell isn't actually real? Like, what if he's just a walking, talking, terrifying manifestation of Jerry's crippling high school anxiety? Hear me out! Think about it. Jerry's already a nervous wreck, right? He's got the whole school paper thing, trying to fit in, the whole awkwardness of being a teenager. Then BAM! He has to write about the notorious new kid. The dude is terrified. What if his own fear conjured this larger-than-life bully into existence? Like, notice how everything intensifies for Jerry after he accidentally touches Buddy? Maybe that touch was the trigger. It kinda explains why nobody else seems as utterly PETRIFIED of Buddy as Jerry is. Everyone else treats him like a dude, but Jerry genuinly acts like he's about to be murdered every second. And the finale! Dude wins with like, the most improbable final punch EVER? The whole ending feels almost dreamlike. I know it's supposed to be triumphant, but it almost feels too good to be true. Like, Jerry just kinda... wills himself to victory over his own internal demons. It's a stretch, I admit, but it makes the movie even MORE interesting! What do you guys think? Am I completely off my rocker, or is there something to this theory? Hit me with your thoughts!
