OMG "Blind Chance" Messed With My Head (in a good way!)
Okay, so I just watched "Blind Chance" (totally had to google how to spell Kieślowski, lol) and I'm SO tripped out. Like, what even IS free will, right? The whole concept of Witek just trying to catch a train and then BAM! Three completely different lives because of it? My brain is still trying to process. I think my favorite 'what if' scenario was maybe the one where he joined the Solidarity movement. The whole thing felt so raw and real, especially the scenes where he's arguing with his communist college friend. It just hit harder than the others, you know? Although, the communist party route was kinda interesting too. It really makes you think how easily someone can get sucked into any ideology depending on circumstances. But the church one was interesting. I just couldn't quite get behind it as much as the others. I really loved how the movie doesnt force you to like, pick a 'best' path for Witek. Its more about seeing how chance encounters and small decisions snowball into completely different realities. It kinda reminds me of "Sliding Doors", but way more philosophical and, like, heavy, haha. Plus, the ending... I won't spoil it, but it definitely leaves you wondering if any of it actually mattered in the end. Anyway, I'm rambling. If you've seen it, let me know what you thought. What "Witek path" did you think was the most likely or compelling? Did it make you question all your life choices like it did me?! Let's discuss!
