"Teen Wolf Too" - Did they FORGET the First Movie?! (My Crazy Theory)
Okay, okay, so I just rewatched "Teen Wolf Too" (because...reasons, mostly involving nostalgia and a need for something REALLY silly), and guys, I have a THEORY. A theory that involves the writers just completely blanking on the first movie. Seriously, did anyone involved even see "Teen Wolf"?! I'm not even trying to be mean, but it's like they just heard "teen wolf, basketball, 80s" and ran with it. Here's my thing: Scott Howard, in the original, he's struggling with the wolf thing. He's ashamed, embarrassed, and then slowly embraces it. Todd Howard? He's instantly a boxing prodigy and just...happy about it? Like, no inner turmoil? No worries about hurting people or losing control? He's just immediately charming and athletic and...perfectly fine with being a wolf-boxer?! It feels so disconnected from Scott's journey, it legitimately feels like a alternate universe. Remember Stiles trying to profit off of Scott's initial 'wolfness'? Where's that sort of chaos?! It makes NO SENSE. And the love interest in the first movie was just amazing, it felt so real. This is just...so meh. The whole movie feels like it's trying REALLY hard to recreate the magic of the first one, but by just amping up the silliness and forgetting the heart. Plus, the fact that they didn't even TRY to explain why it's a DIFFERENT wolf dude? It's lazy! It felt like they said, "eh, nobody will care about the continuity!" I care! So, my theory? They didn't care. They just wanted to make another movie with that title and a wolf. The end. And Honestly, it kinda makes me sad cause I wanted to love this, but it's just TOO different. Thoughts? Am I the only one who feels like I'm taking crazy pills?!
