Beetlejuice World-Building: Overrated or Underrated?

Okay, so hear me out. I just re-watched Beetlejuice (again... I know, I know). And while it's undeniably funny and iconic, I'm starting to wonder if its world-building gets as much credit as it deserves. I mean, everyone remembers the sandworms and the waiting room, but is it really that fleshed out? Specifically, I'm thinking about the afterlife bureaucracy. We see stuff like the handbook for the recently deceased and some hints about different departments. But like, how deep does it GO, man? Is there an IRS for ghosts? Are there different afterlifes for different religions, or is it all one big cosmic office park? My brain just races thinking about the possibilities. I think they only scratched the surface, and it totally has the potential to be expanded into an amazing universe. Way more interesting than, like, the Neverending Story's Fantastica, tbh. And, Beetlegeuse himself is a wild card in the whole thing, right? Is he just some rogue agent screwing around with the rules, or is he a symptom of a larger, more chaotic system? I feel like the movie glosses over, but these tiny details could be expanded upon into to a dark and awesome afterlife. What do you guys think? Am I overthinking a silly movie, or is there some hidden potential for a REALLY cool expanded universe here?
