Okay But Can We Talk About Priscilla Presley's Style in Naked Gun?
So, I just re-watched "The Naked Gun" (again, lol) and while the jokes are still just chef's kiss... like, the baseball scene? Iconic. But seriously, can we talk about Priscilla Presley as Jane Spencer? GIRL. Those 80s power suits? Impeccable. The scene where she first meets Frank at the docks? That white blazer and perfectly coiffed hair? I'm living. I'm not usually one for slapstick, but the way they contrasted her elegant style with the absolute chaos surrounding Frank Drebin was just brilliant. It really elevated the humor, you know? Like, she's trying to maintain this air of sophistication while everything around her is falling apart, literally. It's comedic gold. Also, I'm kinda obsessed with the whole '80s bougie villain aesthetic that Ricardo Montalban was serving. That white suit? I mean, come ON. It's almost distractingly chic for someone planning to assassinate the Queen. (Speaking of which, the Queen's outfits were appropriately regal, but let's be real, Priscilla stole every scene she was in). Okay, I'm done now. Just needed to get that off my chest. Anyone else appreciate the fashion in this movie as much as I do? Or am I just a weirdo who analyzes comedy through the lens of couture? Maybe both. 😂
