Rambo III: Hear Me Out, It's Not That Bad

Okay, okay, before you all jump down my throat, let me just say: I don't think Rambo III is some unsung cinematic achievement. It's ridiculously over-the-top, and the whole 'supporting the Mujahideen' thing aged like milk left in the sun. But, hear me out... it's fun. Seriously, when was the last time a movie so blatantly embraced its own absurdity? That scene where Rambo is literally cauterizing his own wound with gunpowder? Come on, that's so dumb it circles back around to being awesome. And let's be real, Trautman's capture and Rambo's subsequent rescue mission is a solid action movie plot. Forget about the politics for a second (I know, hard to do!), and just appreciate the sheer spectacle of Stallone going full-on, one-man army against the Soviets. Plus, the whole 'Rambo finding inner peace in a monastery' intro? A genuinely interesting starting point that the rest of the movie promptly forgets about. Should've leaned into that more, tbh. I'm not saying it's a good movie in the traditional sense. It's got more holes than Swiss cheese and the dialogue is… well, it's Rambo. But as a piece of pure, unadulterated 80s action cheese? I'd take it over a lot of the superhero garbage we're getting these days. Sometimes you just need to switch your brain off and watch a guy blow stuff up. And Rambo III delivers that in spades... even if it is kinda problematic now looking back.
