Halloween 4: Remember When Michael Was Scary Again?

Alright, Gen X horror hounds, moviebuff_marc checking in. Let's talk about Halloween 4. You know, the one that kinda, sorta brought Michael back from the dead after that whole 'witchcraft' debacle of H3. Look, I'm not saying it's Citizen Kane, but after 'Season of the Witch,' we needed a proper Myers fix. And for the most part, H4 delivered. I mean, the Loomis/Myers dynamic is still GOLD. Donald Pleasence chewing scenery like a man possessed? Inject that directly into my veins! And Danielle Harris as Jamie Lloyd? Kid was legit. That scene where she's dressed as a clown and has that freaky dream? Chills, man. Pure chills. Plus, the ending with Jamie stabbing her foster mom with scissors? Talk about a twist! It was SO unexpected. Though, let's be real, the mask was a little...off. It looked kinda melted, but hey, gotta give them some slack for the 80s budget. Look, it's not Carpenter's original, and it's definitely not as artsy-fartsy as some of the newer horror flicks, but Halloween 4 is solid. It brought back the suspense, the stalking, and that feeling of dread that made Michael Myers a true boogeyman. Think about it - the simple premise of him escaping and relentlessly hunting his niece. Simple, yet effective. It's the kind of slasher flick that reminds me why I fell in love with the genre in the first place. No complicated lore, no weird mythology, just pure, unadulterated fear. Anyone else remember being genuinely creeped out by this one back in '88? Hit me with your thoughts!
