OMG, Did Anyone Else Sob During "Cocktail"? (Yes, I'm Serious)

Okay, okay, so I know "Cocktail" isn't, like, winning any Oscars. But seriously, did anyone else get choked up during parts of it? I just watched it again and the whole Brian and Jordan love story is surprisingly...sad? Like, he's chasing fame and fortune (and okay, being a total jerk sometimes) and she's just...there, believing in him, even when he doesn't deserve it. That scene where she leaves him in Jamaica? Ugh, my heart! I was a mess! And then when he realizes he messed up, sells his poems, and goes after her...I may have cried a little (okay, a lot). Like, it's so ridiculously cheesy, but it WORKS! Maybe it's just Tom Cruise's puppy-dog eyes, or maybe it's the sappy 80s soundtrack, but I was fully invested in their happiness. Don't even get me started on the Ralph Mcchio cameo! But here's my question: Was it JUST me? Am I the only one who saw the emotional depth (or, you know, the attempt at emotional depth) in this movie? Or is there anyone else out there who secretly loves "Cocktail" for more than just the awesome bar tricks and the tropical vibes? I feel like there's more to it than people give it credit for (or maybe I am just super sensitive lol). Also, can we TALK about how awful Brian was to that waitress? Seriously, what a jerk. He needed to get his act together, and fast! But the ending still got me, I can't lie.
