Hellraiser II: Okay, the doctor is SCARY, but wtf was with that ending?!
Okay, so I finally got around to watching Hellbound: Hellraiser II. The first Hellraiser freaked me out like, a lot when I was younger, so I put this one off. Honestly? It was pretty wild. Dr. Channard?! That dude went from creepy psychiatrist to full-on Cenobite REAL fast. Ken Cranham killed it (hehe, get it?). He was genuinely terrifying, especially in the beginning when he's all secretive and obsessed with the mattress. Eeew. But the ending...I'm so confused! Like, Pinhead suddenly gets all, 'Oh no, I remember being human!' and turns good?? Then Tiffany, who's just been wandering around oblivious for most of the movie, suddenly knows how to solve the puzzle box again? And the whole double Kirsty thing? It just felt kind of rushed and didn't really make a ton of sense. I mean, I was entertained, don't get me wrong. It was definitely gorier and more over-the-top than the first one, which I appreciated. Did anyone else think the resolution of Pinhead was kinda weak? Like, he’s built up to be this ultimate evil and then a flashback to his human self changes everything? I'm not saying it ruined the movie, but it felt…off. And what was the point of the female Cenobite if all she did was hiss a few times? I thought we'd get more cool Cenobite action. So, yeah, entertaining but kinda left me scratching my head. What did you guys think about the ending? Was I missing something, or did it genuinely feel a bit haphazard?
