Killer Klowns From Outer Space - Still Holds Up After All These Years!
Okay, so, we watched "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" last night and I FORGOT how ridiculous it is. In the BEST way possible, obviously. Like, the shadow puppets?! Seriously?! And the popcorn gun? Comedy GOLD. I remember being vaguely terrified of it as a kid, but now I just think it's hilarious. Curtis and the two guys who found the circus tent in the woods were the best characters in the movie. Every time their faces came on the screen everyone started cheering and laughing! Seriously though, the special effects, even for 1988, are kinda… bad, but that's part of its charm, right? Like, the cotton candy cocoons...you can totally tell they're just plastic wrap lol. My friend Jess pointed out that the klowns' shoes squeaked a lot quieter than they should on those dusty roads and we all just started hysterically laughing. Also, I'm still not sure why those two hillbilly guys were so suspicious of everything? Guess you need someone to be the skeptic, haha. I'm giving it like a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It's not going to win any awards for cinematic brilliance or anything, but it's pure, unadulterated, goofy fun. Especially with the right group of friends and maybe some pizza. It's one everyone needs to watch at least once, just for the sheer craziness of it. Definitely recommending it for a goofy movie night!
