Gazpacho Apocalypse? My Wild Theory About Women on the Verge...

Okay, so I just re-watched "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown." And I know, it's supposed to be like, a comedy of errors, right? But hear me out, because I'm seeing some serious sci-fi vibes, specifically around the gazpacho. Pepa's planning to unalive herself (avoiding certain words, ya know?) with it. Now, what if, instead of just sleeping pills, that gazpacho had something... else in it? Something experimental? Like, maybe Iván, being the phone-obsessed dude he is, was secretly testing some crazy neuro-altering substance? Think about it: everyone who drinks that gazpacho has wild reactions. It's not just sleepy; it's manic, emotional, like they're living in a heightened reality. I mean, Candela's paranoia level is insane, Carlos is all messed up, and even Marisa, after a sip, ends up sedating Iván. That's not just regular sleeping pills, people! It's like a temporary mind-control drug, or a reality-warping serum disguised as a refreshing summer soup. It wouldn't be out of place in a Philip K. Dick story, I swear. Plus, the whole movie is so stylized, almost like a dream. Maybe it is a dream, induced by the experimental gazpacho, a collective hallucination that shows each character's deepest fears and desires being played out in hyper-real fashion. Furthermore, there's the whole obsession with telephones and communication breakdowns. What if the phones are just a metaphor for the breakdown of Pepa's reality itself? The constant ringing, the wrong numbers, the intercepted calls... it's all a reflection of her fractured mental state, amplified by the…gazpacho. Ultimately, I know it's probably just quirky humor, but I can't shake the feeling there's something more sinister, something almost Lynchian, lurking beneath the surface. Maybe I'm just projecting my sci-fi obsession, but seriously, someone needs to write a sequel where the gazpacho turns people into Cronenberg-esque monsters. Okay, I'll stop now. What do you guys think? Am I totally off my rocker, or is there something to this?
