The Bear (1988) - Was that a Dream Sequence?!

Okay, bear movie fans! I just rewatched 'The Bear' (again, lol), and something REALLY hit me this time. I think part of the movie might be from the cub's perspective, and maybe a dream? Specifically, right after the mom dies. The whole scene where he's trying to nurse from her, heartbreaking, right? But then it cuts to him finding the adult bear, and it's almost too convenient. Like, think about it. He's a tiny orphaned cub, completely vulnerable. Realistically, he's bear food! But instead, he bumps into a grumpy adult who, despite clearly wanting NOTHING to do with him at first, suddenly becomes his protector? I'm not saying it's impossible, but it feels… heightened. Almost like a child's fantasy of finding a big, strong guardian to replace their lost parent. Especially the honey scene! It's too perfect; plus, he gets high as a kite! Who knows what he could be imagining! I'm theorizing that maybe the initial meeting and some of the subsequent bonding is filtered through the cub's grief and trauma. It makes the adult bear's more overtly caring moments (like sharing the fish, even though he looks annoyed AF about it) even more impactful. Maybe it's just me overthinking, but I think it adds another layer of depth to the film. What do you guys think? Any other moments that struck you as potentially dreamlike or exaggerated? Also, sidenote: That avalanche scene still scares the CRAP out of me. Just had to get that off my chest. Okay, bye!
