Okay, Hear Me Out: Magda Knew. (A Short Film discussion)

Hey guys, Hannah here! Just re-watched "A Short Film About Love" for like, the fifth time this year (don't judge!), and something really hit me this time. I think Magda knew Tomek was watching her way before he actually confessed. I'm not saying she orchestrated the whole thing, but like, she was definitely aware. Think about it: She never really closes her blinds completely. There's always a sliver, enough for Tomek (and us) to get a peek. And those scenes where she's "alone" but almost posing? Especially the one where she's talking on the phone and then looks right at his window? I always thought it was just Krystyna Janda being an amazing actress, but now I think it's supposed to be her subtly acknowledging him. It's like she’s putting on a performance for him, a show tailored to his voyeuristic gaze. Maybe she's just deeply insecure and needs the attention, or maybe she's genuinely curious about him too. Also, when Tomek finally confronts her, she doesn't seem all that surprised. Annoyed, yes, but not shocked. Almost like she was waiting for him to make a move. And the ending? I know some people find it hopeful, but I still feel a little sad about it. I mean, she invites him in, but is it genuine love or just pity, or even an experiment? I'm not sure he's what she wanted but maybe she just wanted someone to pay attention. Anyway, just my two cents! What do you guys think? Am I reading too much into it, or is there something to this whole Magda-was-in-on-it theory? Let me know!
