Ariel (1988) - Anyone else blown away by the stark realism?

Alright action junkies, MikeCinema here. Been on a bit of a Finnish cinema kick lately and stumbled across "Ariel" (1988). Now, it ain't exactly packed with explosions or car chases, but damn, that movie hit me hard. It's a brutally realistic story about this miner losing everything, and the desperation is just palpable. No fancy CGI or anything, just raw human emotion and a bleak landscape. I keeps you hooked thoughout the entire movie. What really got me was how they portrayed Mikkonen's struggle. It felt so authentic, like you were watching a real person going through hell. No overly dramatic acting, just quiet pain and a desperate search for any kind of hope. And that prison break scene? Talk about low-budget intensity! It was so gritty and raw, way more effective than any Hollywood blockbuster. It just feels like you watching reality. I'm curious, has anyone else seen this? What did you think of the overall tone and the performances? I'm not saying it's going to be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you're expecting non-stop action but if you apreciate good films you should watch it.
