Sleepaway Camp II: Angela's Morality Play? 🤔

Okay, so I just re-watched Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (don't judge, it's a guilty pleasure lol) and I had this kinda bonkers theory pop into my head. What if the whole movie is basically Angela's twisted interpretation of a morality play? Like, she's escaped from the asylum, right? So her grip on reality is already, uh... not great. But she's also obsessed with good behavior. It's not just that she kills people, it's why she kills them. They're always doing something "wrong" in her eyes. Smoking weed, being promiscuous, bullying, whatever. It's like she's enforcing her own messed up code of ethics. Think about it: she's constantly lecturing the campers! She's not just randomly slashing people, she's making them learn... or, well, permanently shut up, lol. Remember the scene where she drowns that girl for saying "shit"? Super over the top, yeah, but also totally symbolic. It's like she's cleansing the camp of 'sin', one camper at a time. Like, she genuinely thinks she's doing the world a favour. I know, I know, it's Sleepaway Camp. We're not exactly talking high art here. But I think reading it as Angela's personal morality play actually makes the movie more interesting (and even funnier, if that's possible). Plus, Pam Springsteen is a total queen. What do you guys think? Am I reaching here or is there something to this idea of Angela a vigilante enforcing her own warped sense of justice?!
