Ghoul School Still Holds Up... Right?

Okay, so I rewatched Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School the other day and I'm having a real nostalgia trip, but also some thoughts. First off, gotta say, the character design is still fantastic. Sibella Dracula's daughter? Tanis the mummy girl? Elsa Frankenteen? Iconic! I love how they made them genuinely endearing despite being, y'know, monsters. But as a cough film student these days, I'm wondering what you guys think about the visual storytelling? Specifically, I'm thinking of the scene where Revolta and the Grim Creeper first appear – it's pretty standard 80s cartoon villain entrance but is there something I'm missing that is actually clever? Or is it just cool because of the lightning and dramatic music? Honestly, the animation is pretty simple, but I think the color palette is actually really effective, adding to the spooky-but-still-kid-friendly vibe. Also, anyone else get lowkey annoyed at how Shaggy and Scooby are always the scaredy cats? Like, yeah, it's their whole thing, but does it ever feel a bit… played out? I wish they had given Scrappy more to do though, he feels kinda shoehorned in at times. Overall, still a fun watch after all these years! Let me know your thoughts and any fun facts you might know about it!
